Talent retention requires a multifaceted approach to be successful. In this session, we will discuss how Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield addresses talent retention.

Cassie Hartaway, SHRM-CP, ACC

Director of Enterprise Learning & Development at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield

Director of Enterprise Learning & Development, AR BCBS.

Cassie is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-CP) and Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation. In her twenty-five-year professional career, she has served in a variety of capacities including Corporate Recruiting, HR Management, Staff Training and Leadership Development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Arkansas State University and a Master of Arts in HR Management from Webster University.  Cassie began her service at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in July 2015 as an HR Business Partner, transferred to Learning Consultant in January 2018, and promoted to Director of Enterprise Learning & Development (EL&D) in June 2022. As Director of EL&D, she is responsible for the daily oversight of all Learning & Development programs, systems, and processes to align employee development and talent management practices with corporate objectives. This includes directing and planning the work of direct reports, planning/directing corporate university programs and resources, succession planning processes, onboarding programs, compliance training, tuition reimbursement, and general employee development activities. Cassie wears many hats, including her favorites of wife, mom, and nana!

Grady McCorkle, MBA, CISSP, PMP

Director of Workplace Planning at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield

Grady McCorkle is the Director of Workforce Planning at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and several industry certifications. In this role, he is responsible for aligning the organization's talent strategy with its business goals and objectives. Grady leads a team of professionals who provide expertise in workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement surveys, organizational change management, Workday strategy, and talent acquisition.
Grady enjoys speaking on various leadership, technical, and education topics. He co-founded the Central Arkansas Leadership Development Forum, a network of high-caliber peers who share best practices and insights.
He sits on the board for Life Skills for Youth and the Bedford Falls Project; both are non-profit organizations supporting their local communities.
