Key Objectives

As a result of this presentation participants will: - Gain an understanding of how personality assessments are used in modern workplaces - Learn how to determine how to evaluate an assessment for effectiveness in meeting a business need - Understand the strengths and criticisms of many widely used personality assessments

Personality assessments comprise a roughly $2 billion industry according to some sources. What is their appeal? How are they used in modern workplaces? Are they effective when used to enhance team dynamics, talent development, and hiring decisions? This session will explore these and other compelling questions about personality assessments. This session will also provide descriptive and evaluative information about popular assessments used in workplaces today.

Judy Lohmar

Founder, Executive Coach at Judy Lohmar Consulting

Judy Lohmar is a leadership advisor and coach who partners with leaders to achieve their goals and maximize their impact on business performance. She is passionate about working with leaders to cultivate positive, engaging, and inclusive work environments for their teams and organizations. Her coaching methodology, which is grounded in emotional intelligence, uses a collaborative and values-based approach. Judy is credentialed as a coach through the International Coach Federation. She holds an M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota, a B.S. in Marketing from Illinois State University, and a certification in Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) from Cornell University. She is certified in the Emotional & Social Competence Inventory (ESCI) 360, the Hogan assessment, and the Birkman. She is also a certified instructor in Crucial Conversations for Dialog, Crucial Conversations for Accountability, Development Dimension International (DDI) learning systems, and Achieve Forum leadership programs. Prior to starting her coaching and consulting business, Judy spent more than 25 years leading and implementing learning and talent management solutions that produce measurable results. In her most recent corporate role as the Director of Enterprise Learning & Development at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Judy led all aspects of leadership development, talent management, succession planning, and learning management. She was also highly engaged in transforming the workplace culture through Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI). Judy’s proven abilities in navigating and influencing across functions in a complex work environment inform her capabilities as a coach. She is a collaborative communicator skilled in building trust, credibility, and relationships with all levels of leadership including the C-suite. She has worked with a broad range of industries and has experience in board leadership within the non-profit sector.
