Strategies for Addressing Sensitive Topics (Bias, Privilege, and Emotional Tax)
Key Objectives
Participants will (1) analyze EEO complaint data related to obstruction to opportunity, (2) calculate the expense unchecked bias has on impacted populations, (3) dig deep into the types of bias, clues for spotting it within, and actions to reduce the impact, (4) explore privilege and its impact on bias, and (5) pledge to move the needle one notice in the coming 30 days.
While DEI programs may be under siege, HR professionals know the concerns related to barriers to opportunity are many. Creating a workplace culture where sensitive topics can safely be explored means more than just affinity programs and corporate messaging. In this workshop, Dr. Gordon will provide a comfortable setting for exploring topics that everyone should know but few have the opportunity to explore.
