John Ferguson is the Chief Human Resources Officer at NASCAR, the premier motorsports organization in the United States. In his capacity, Ferguson spearheads NASCAR's human resource planning, intricately aligning it with the organization's overarching business strategy. His purview encompasses talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning & development, and total rewards, with a steadfast commitment to nurturing a 'people-first' company culture. This undertaking spans across more than 20 office and race-track locations nationwide. Beyond his role at NASCAR, Ferguson sits on the Board of Directors for the SHRM Foundation, the Alumni Board of Furman University, and the UNCF Orlando Leadership Council. Notably, he has been recognized on the Sports Business Journal's 2024 Forty Under 40 list and featured among SAVOY Magazine's Most Influential Executives in Corporate America. Ferguson holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Furman University, an Executive Certificate in Strategic Diversity & Inclusion Management from Georgetown University, and a Master's in Business Administration from the Howard University School of Business.
