Dr. Stephanie Nehus
Superintendent at Hot Springs School District
Dr. Stephanie Nehus is a native of Kansas, but relocated to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1988 with her family. She graduated from Lakeside School District in 1993. Dr. Nehus completed her Bachelor of Science in Education degree (BSE, 1996) at Henderson State University, along with her Master of Science in Education degree (MSE, 1998). She completed her Doctor of Education degree (Ed.D, 2008) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dr. Nehus’ professional roles have included: junior high mathematics teacher, Secondary Curriculum Coordinator for Math and Science, Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Secondary Education, Associate Superintendent of Learning Services, and her current role as Superintendent. She has had the pleasure to serve Benton School District (8 years), Stuttgart School District (3 years), and Hot Springs School District (14 years and counting) in her 25 years in public education. Dr. Nehus was named the Arkansas Association of Curriculum & Instruction Administrators Administrator of the Year in 2016 and the Arkansas Rural Education Association Superintendent of the Year for the South in 2022. Servant leadership is her guide in all aspects of life. Dr. Nehus serves on several community and educational boards and is a member of Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club. She is currently Immediate Past President of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators. She is married to Zachary Nehus and has three children, Andrew, James, and Julia.
