In today’s fast-paced workplace, stress and decision fatigue can take a toll on leadership effectiveness. This is an interactive session that introduces workplace leaders and managers to the power of breathwork for stress management, focus, and authentic leadership. Attendees will experience a guided breathwork exercise, gain practical techniques for high-pressure situations, and explore how mindful breathing enhances resilience. Walk away with actionable strategies to integrate breathwork into daily routines and wellness initiatives.

Key Objectives

Identify the impact of chronic workplace stress and decision fatigue on leadership performance and organizational outcomes. Apply foundational breathwork techniques to enhance focus, emotional regulation, and resilience in high-stress environments. Develop a personalized plan to integrate mindful breathing practices into daily leadership routines and employee wellness strategies.

Jessica Miller-Merrell

Chief Innovation Officer at Workology

Jessica Miller-Merrell is the Founder of Workology.com which began in 2005, and host of the Workology Podcast. Workology is a workplace resource destination for HR, recruiting professionals and business leaders. The site was listed twice as a top 75 career resource by Forbes Magazine. Jessica is an HR and recruiting process and optimization consultant and author of Tweet This! Her new book, Digitizing Talent: Creative Strategies for the Digital Recruiting Age, was published in 2023 by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). Jessica’s expertise is sought after and sourced by publications and media including Economist, Forbes, CIO Magazine, CBS, Entrepreneur Magazine, and SHRM’s HR Magazine. Jessica is an experienced consultant and HR and talent acquisition practitioner having worked with companies like Whole Foods, AT&T, OfficeMax, Home Depot and the Chickasaw Nation. She has extensive experience in HR and talent acquisition trends and processes. She is available to keynote and speak at conferences, events, and webinars in addition to her work as a digital, HR and talent acquisition consultant, analyst and author. Jessica earned a SPHR designation in 2008, SHRM-SCP in 2015, and a Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) certification in 2021. She received her yoga teaching certification in 2023 and combines her love of HR with wellness as a certified yoga instructor, meditation practitioner, and advocate for healthy workplaces. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Business from Kansas State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University. Jessica is originally from a small town in Kansas and lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Greg and daughter, Ryleigh.
