Barbara Sugg

President & CEO at Southwest Power Pool, Inc.

Barbara Sugg has served as president and CEO of Southwest Power Pool, Inc. since 2020.  She previously served as SPP's senior vice president of IT and chief security officer.  Barbara has over 30 years of IT experience in the electric utility industry.  A proud Ragin' Cajun, she earned a BA in computer science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.  

Barbara participates in numerous industry, community and philanthropic organizations.  She's a certified executive coach and founded the Leadership for Women, a nonprofit that equips women for success, based in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

Kelly Carney, SPHR

Vice President, Human Capital, Chief People Officer at Southwest Power Pool, Inc.

Kelly Carney, SPHR, is the Vice President, Human Capital and Chief People Officer for Southwest Power Pool, where she oversees the human resources and learning and development teams.  Kelly has over 20 years of experience in human resources and has worked across a variety of industries.  She previously served as vice president of human resources and chief administration officer at Delta Dental of Arkansas.  She also serves as the Chair of the Arkansas Hospice governance board.  She has a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Administration from the University of Kansas and has a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
