This engaging and data-driven presentation presents attendees with data supporting the importance of resilience of HR professionals, organizations, and leaders and how to influence these areas, as well as the completion of an exercise to assess and improve personal resilience.

Susan Wathen
Recently Retired Vice President - Human Resources at Hannibal Regional Healthcare System
Ms. Susan Wathen retired December 31, 2024, from her twelve-year role as the Vice President, Human Resources for Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Ms. Wathen joined the Hannibal Regional Healthcare System team in January 2013, brought with her over 10 years of senior leadership experience, and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources. Ms. Wathen received her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from DeVry University and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Hannibal-LaGrange University. Ms. Wathen is a chartering member and Past President of the Northeast Missouri Area Chapter of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) a member and Past President of the Quincy Area Chapter of SHRM, a member of National SHRM and of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration, board member and Past President at the Hannibal YMCA and member and President of the Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis Club. Ms. Wathen has also served as an Ambassador for the Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce and is a Past Vice President for the Hannibal Free Public Library. She and her husband have been married for more than 38 years with three daughters and six grandchildren.
